Maryland adopted the 2018 IRC in March 2019. Local jurisdictions were required to adopt and enforce the code by March 25, 2020. Jurisdictions may weaken the structural amendments of the code. If you receive a gray color-coded finding for your search area, your community’s residential building code adoption status may not be available; however, you may contact your local government for the information. Please keep in mind that mobile homes and manufactured housing are not constructed using the residential building code reflected in this analysis, so this website is not applicable to those types of structures.
