Mississippi Code § 17-2-4 requires local jurisdictions to adopt as minimum codes one of the last 3 editions of the IBC and IRC as adopted and amended by the Mississippi Building Codes Council (MBCC). The MBCC adopted the 2018 IBC and IRC effective 1/1/2020.

If you receive a gray color-coded finding for your search area, your community’s residential building code adoption status may not be available; however, you may contact your local government for the information. Please keep in mind that mobile homes and manufactured housing are not constructed using the residential building code reflected in this analysis, so this website is not applicable to those types of structures.
