The color-coded analysis is based on the best available data and reflects the adoption status of the International Residential Code (IRC) and International Building Code (IBC). It does not reflect information regarding building code enforcement.

If you receive a gray color-coded finding for your search area, your community’s residential building code adoption status may not be available; however, you may contact your local government for the information. Please remember that mobile homes and manufactured housing are not constructed using the codes reflected in this analysis, so this website does not apply to those home types.

If you know that your community has adopted the International Residential Code, but you receive gray or other color findings in error, please use the “Share Data” button at the bottom of this page or email us at Info@Flash.org. We will evaluate and update the information.

• Within 180 days of the alleged discrimination, complainants may submit a written or verbal complaint to FLASH. Complaints must include the complainant’s name, the nature of the complaint, the dates of the complaint, the requested action, and contact information. A complaint form (available in English or Spanish) will be provided upon request.
• FLASH will review the complaint and may solicit additional information from the complainant as needed. If additional information is requested and not received, the case may be closed. The case may also be closed if the complainant no longer wishes to pursue their case. FLASH’s goal is to address complaints within 60 days of receipt, though the time to investigate complaints may be longer depending on the nature of the complaint and the complexity of the issue.
• Complaints will be processed by the Executive Vice President and provided to the FLASH President and CEO for review. The complainant will be notified in writing of the investigation and what action will be/have been taken in response and the timeline to request review.
